Souls meet for a reason, often more alike than we realize. They find each other, drawn by a shared need, and become a home for one another. When two souls find true comfort together, separation becomes impossible. There's a purpose behind their connection- no coincidence, just fate. Maybe she needed someone to teach her how to truly live, and he needed someone to show him how to love.
Together, they fill the spaces in each other's hearts, creating something beautiful and unbreakable.
Their meeting was destined, a perfect match of souls that were always meant to find each other.
Here is our story:
Richard:
Having lost my father to COVID and then nearly dying from it myself 7 months later I did some soul searching and decided that I was serious about finding love, and so I joined Eharmony. After learning the site I decided that I was not going to contact any of my matches that had a score of 110 (out of 150) or less as there were very few of those. Melissa was 118.
She had lost her husband to diabetes a few years back and had been on Eharmony long enough to decide to give up on it as there were too many strange people contacting her and no quality matches. As she signed on to delete her account she found my message, and soon my heart.
Melissa:
As Richard said, I was about to delete the account- literally had my finger ready to press the delete button when I saw a ping and curiosity got the best of me. What I found was a 5 paragraph 'hello' that was thoughtfully and intelligently written- it was not something that was cut and pasted. He had put a tremendous amount of thought into it so I had to at least say hello and respond.
As we got to know each other a little better we discovered we had lived and been in several places at the same time in our lives. We both lived in San Diego when I was in high school and again when I lived in Sacramento he had been there too! Richard was an avid scuba diver, something I had dreamed of doing since I was a teenager!
Richard loves robotics and engineering new creations so for our first date the day after Thanksgiving 2021, he drove six hours from Lawton with his portable oxygen machine to see me and we went to a Christmas light show then after I made dinner and we played cribbage. We talked and laughed when I kept getting the same Ace of Diamonds in just about every hand.
We spent our first Christmas together that year with both of our families and everyone seemed to get along and like one another. That year my first present from Richard was a large picture.
Richard and I agree that we couldn't be more different than one another but 'we just work". He will say its because he speaks English and I speak Smurfette. I think it has more to do with his need for hearing aids.
What we know is that we love one another and that we share the belief that our relationship requires work and the joy that we have experienced in doing the work has been worth every minute past and to come.
So we invite you to share in our day of celebrating our love with us.
